The annual Rosemere Cancer Foundation walk sees hundreds take to the pavements in Blackpool
Now in its 10th year, the five-mile walk along the promenade from Bispham tram stop to Starr Gate in Blackpool has helped raise money for cancer charity Guiding’s Silver Jubilee Light appeal.
Although a grand total is still counted, the much needed funds will help bring SGRT – Surface Guided Radiotherapy Treatment to the Royal Preston Hospital.
Equipment has now started arriving at the center and will be installed over the next few weeks.
Rosemere Cancer Center undertakes all radiotherapy for the whole of Lancashire and South Cumbria, therefore treats around 240 patients a day five days a week.
SGRT, which uses a near-infrared beam guiding system, will benefit each and every future radiation therapy patient.
