Kate Middleton CRACKS crossword about the royal family
Clever Kate Middleton has completed a caring student’s crossword puzzle – with a very regal answer.
The Duchess and her husband Prince William spent 20 minutes greeting delighted students waiting outside the University of Glasgow campus yesterday.
Sophomore Jack Baird, 21, surprised Kate’s eyes by waving a copy of an old Times crossword puzzle.
The Duchess, who has a 2:1 degree in art history, grabbed the handout and offered to help the stranded student.
Luckily for Kate, the answer was one she knew and was “thrilled” to complete the tricky puzzle.
Jack said afterwards: “I was stuck on one clue, it was seven down which was ‘Precursor to the Sovereign Grant, the funding provided to support the Queen’s official duties’.
“It was two five and four letter words. I couldn’t figure out the second word.
“I gave it to Kate and asked her because I’m sure she would have known. And she said it was ‘Civil List’.
“She was very excited. It didn’t look like she was going to figure it out for a while.
“She looked thrilled. I think she was like, ‘I wouldn’t be going through this if I was wrong.
“I’m really thrilled. I’m going to frame it.”
