Excitement as philanthropist donates to church – The Sun Nigeria
Excitement and jubilation rented the air to Nsukka yesterday like a philanthropist and politician, Dr. Owelle Ejikeme Odumegwu donated 800 bags of cement (with a market value of around N3.6 million) to the Okunerere Worship Ministry, Enugu State.
Owell who is a top contender for Enugu State Seat of the House of Assembly for Igbo-Eze North 1 (Ozzi) Constituency while making the presentation at the worship ground, said the the donation was in fulfillment of a promise he had made to the ministry during his bazaar celebration.
He said the donation was intended to elevate the ongoing construction work in the ministry as well as “ensure that the House of God is in beneficial shape.”
Odumegwu said he would use the same passion of his philanthropy to ensure his constituents do not miss out by giving them quality and results-oriented representation.
“The massive crowd from communities in the Igbo-Eze North council area, excluding my extended family members and friends, here today shows the overwhelming support and followers that my declaration to compete for Igbo-Eze North State constituency – 1 had already attracted.
“Just as I have a passion for philanthropy, the same passion that I will bring to my political career and to ensure that my constituents continue to benefit from quality representation as well as good governance and the smooth live that goes with it.
“Before now, I have given scholarships to hundreds of pupils and students, even at the university level, I have built amenities throughout the state, such as running water, electricity and recently a police station in my council area of Igbo-Eze,” he said.
In response, the Spiritual Director of the Okunerere Worship Ministry, Rev. Paul Obayi, said the ministry was overwhelmed with joy that Odumegwu had fulfilled the promise he made to the ministry.
While impacting and invoking God’s blessing on Owelle, Prof. Obayi congratulated him for making the house of God his priority even amid the rising cost of building materials and other hardships Nigerians are currently facing.
“Because you did this and did not hold back even in difficulties; the great God we serve will surely grant the desires of your heart.
