HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – In its 10th year, the 2022 Arts and Culture Grants Program received the most money it has ever received and was able to award grants to 19 local arts organizations as a result.

Huntsville-based nonprofit arts organizations applied for a portion of $250,000 awarded by Huntsville City Council in fall 2021. Grants went to programs designed to provide an accessible arts experience for adults and children from the community.

“As COVID-19 has continued to impact artists and arts organizations across the city, our community has demonstrated just how much they appreciate the arts,” said Arts Huntsville Executive Director Allison Dillon. -Jauken. “With sold-out performances, new artist studios and arts events in new venues, residents and visitors to the area have shown they are more eager than ever for artistic experiences. With increased funding from the City of Huntsville for the Huntsville Arts and Culture Grants Program for FY22, this year’s Arts Fellows can continue to create accessible arts experiences for children and adults of all the community.
