BURKBURNETT (KFDX / KJTL) – A sign of hope shines on a Burkburnett family who lost their home in a fire on Sunday.

Twitter philanthropist Bill Pulte saw GoFundMe set up after our digital content producer tweeted Pulte asking for help.

At around 4 p.m., Pulte tweeted the GoFundMe link and donated $ 1,000.

In just a few minutes, Pulte and his supporters helped achieve GoFundMe’s goal.

At the time of publication, GoFundMe has received over 1,100 donations and raised over $ 17,000.

Donors use terms like “#TeamPulte”, “I saw where Pulte was supporting you, even if it’s a small amount”, “Pulte shared the post and I think a little help can go very far ”, and similar messages.

At around 7 a.m. on Sunday, Burkburnett firefighters arrived at the 700 block of Reagan Street and found the house completely burned down, officials said.

The family of 12 managed to get to safety and no one was injured according to sources close to the family.

The house was destroyed along with all the family’s belongings.

Another family friend appealed on social media for donations of clothing, furniture and everyday items to help get the Kosechata back on their feet.

“Now is the time to pay it forward, please,” family friend Michael Lowe said in a Facebook post. “It doesn’t have to be huge, because every little bit helps and counts. “

Lowe urges those who can or must clean their wardrobes to direct him on Facebook for an address to ship clothes.
