According to research from Imperial College London, the Covid-19 pandemic has claimed millions of lives and orphaned a child every 12 seconds around the world. As a result, bedding brand Pasaya has teamed up with Mother’s Spiritual Museum to present the “Art Of Love: Matarak” exhibition, which will be on view from tomorrow until January 9 at the Iconluxe gallery in Iconsiam.
To showcase premier Thai craftsmanship, the exhibition will feature a variety of textile murals based on paintings and photos by leading Thai and global artists. Each work has accurately captured the beauty and delicate nuances of the original masterpieces and offers the viewer a fascinating experience. For example, Italian painter Arianna Caroli and Thai botanical artist Phansakdi Chakkapak both portray the beauty and power of flowers.
Textile wallpapers are a centuries-old craft, and weaving is a time-consuming process. Creating unique designs takes a high level of skill and expertise. Thanks to developments in textile manufacturing and technology, textile wallpapers are now woven in a considerably shorter time frame, while retaining the beauty and delicacy of traditional craftsmanship.
To raise funds for the youth and the poor who have been affected by Covid-19, shoppers can view a special edition of products created by Pasaya and the Mother’s Spiritual Museum as well as other participating brands. Profits will be donated to the Buddharaksa Foundation and the Sahathai Foundation.
