Local Family Advocate and Philanthropist Announce Race for Santa Clarita City Council – Hometown Station | KHTS FM 98.1 & AM 1220 – Radio Santa Clarita
Local family advocate Denise Lite has announced her campaign for a seat on Santa Clarita city council.
“I believe the people of Santa Clarita deserve honest and effective representation in these complex times.” Lite said in a statement. “I will represent the residents of Santa Clarita with the same strong leadership, advocacy, and integrity that I bring to my work as a family legal advocate and philanthropic board member.”
Lite works professionally as a lawyer and family lawyer in her family law firm and is also President of Soropitimst International of Valencia.
“My experience as a mediator has made me an excellent listener who works towards equitable solutions. I will apply these same skills while serving on city council, ”Lite said.
Soroptimist International is a non-profit organization aimed at supporting women and girls in the community, and Lite played an important role in the ‘Bras for a Cause’ fundraising event, introducing distinctive features of the event such as live models and a basket auction. .
“As a little girl, I lost my mother to breast cancer. That is why I have chosen today, at the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to announce my candidacy in her memory, ”said Lite.
The motivation for starting his campaign came from witnessing the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the closing of businesses and the struggling community.
“I couldn’t stay on the sidelines,” Lite said.
Lite is married to her husband, John Lite, and is the stepmother of two boys.
