United Breast Cancer Foundation Attends Combined Federal Campaign Season 2021
CFC is the world’s largest annual charitable giving campaign open to federal, military and postal employees.
HUNTINGTON, NY, September 14, 2021 / PRNewswire-PRWeb / – This year, UBCF is delighted to announce its ninth consecutive year of participation in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). The CFC is an opportunity for federal, postal and military personnel and retirees to donate to a local or international charity of their choice. The CFC campaign will run from September 1, 2021, through January 15, 2022. This year is especially exciting because it is the 60th year of CFC giving! In fact, over the past 60 years, the CFC has raised more than $ 8.5 billion. The United Breast Cancer Foundation’s CFC number is 77934.
UBCF is proud to be a 3-star rated CFC, GuideStar Platinum and Charity Navigator approved charity. CFC approved charities are 501 (c) (3) organizations and are determined to be eligible through a rigorous application process. Today, most of the charities participating in the campaign do so as members of national federations and UBCF is proud to be a member of the Building Healthier Communities (CHC) federation. Federations like CHC have their own standards that their members must meet, making a group of charities that donors can confidently support.
CFC donors who contribute to UBCF can help patients, survivors and families cope with a breast cancer diagnosis. Donors can donate various amounts per biweekly pay period. Giving $ 50 per pay period, donors can help a patient who is struggling to pay off her mortgage and pay for her treatments. Only 25 $ per pay period can pay for holistic treatments. A unique gift from $ 150 will cover breast screening for a woman or man in need. Gifts of any size will make a big difference in the lives of those battling breast cancer.
Paulette, a client of the United Breast Cancer Foundation, was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer on her birthday in August 2019. She feels like negativity takes years from her life, so she stayed positive and didn’t let her diagnosis bring her down. While remaining positive throughout her treatment, Paulette still faced countless obstacles related to her diagnosis. She explained that at first, without being diagnosed with the stage of her breast cancer, she could not receive financial assistance. She had not even been approved for social security and could not get it without a diagnosis of stage 3 or 4. Thus, she could not benefit from social security until her surgeries did not confirm. that her breast cancer was in fact stage 3.
Fortunately, Paulette was able to benefit from the support of organizations such as the United Breast Cancer Foundation. Through UBCF, she received both an individual scholarship and a child sponsorship scholarship. When asked what a donor’s gift meant to her, she explained that “it meant the world” to her and her children. Paulette thanks the UBCF for all the support and the UBCF thanks Paulette for her strength and inspiration!
