Pearls with Purpose, a nonprofit dedicated to the sustainable empowerment of disadvantaged people in developing countries, has released a brand new children’s book titled, The purple dress. Pearls withPurpose founder Wendy Bird is the author The purple dress, which tells the incredible, true story of how the choice of an eight-year-old American has a lasting impact on a 12-year-old girl in a remote jungle in the Philippines.
Bird hopes the book instills the values of giving and service to readers, because a simple donation can change the life of someone halfway around the world. The purple dress teach children how giving and contributing can have a positive and powerful impact on the lives of others.
Pearls with Purpose was founded in 2002 by Bird as a non-profit organization providing training for micro-businesses as well as humanitarian assistance to women around the world. The company sells jewelry that is handcrafted by artisans in developing countries.
Bird has inspired and motivated people all over the world by sharing his passion and experience in social entrepreneurship. The founder of Pearls with Purpose is a Certified Gemologist (GIA) and a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10KSB MBA program. Its aim is to empower women in the long term by teaching them jewelry making and business ownership with microenterprise skills.

Bird started working in the Philippines before expanding Pearls with Purpose as a global outreach program.
