New Orleans, United States, July 03, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) –

Kwasi Asare, Founder and CEO of FEEDIA, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Ghana and US-based nonprofit, The Village Communities Development Center (VCDC).

Mr. Asare recently commented on VCDC’s roadmap for the future. “The main focus for the next 12 months,” says Asare, “will be to fund the launch of a community center focused on STEM education. In the longer term, the goal is to sustainably improve the quality of life of rural people in Ghana. “

This appointment was prompted by Kwasi Asare’s work in the areas of social impact, marketing, technology and business development; in particular his work of visioning and implementing growth, marketing and business development strategies across the globe for nonprofit and for-profit companies for nearly two decades.

Mr. Asare, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the son of Ghanaian-American immigrants, has been involved in philanthropy and social impact for more than two decades. He was first inspired by his family’s continued philanthropic efforts which ultimately led to the founding of the VCDC. Responding to a question about the driving force behind VCDC’s potential success, Asare explained “It really comes down to being a catalyst for innovation and a better quality of life for rural Ghanaian communities”.

Reflecting on the opportunity offered by the position, Asare reportedly said, “Rural Africa is the next breadbasket and innovation lab in the world, VCDC is focused on maximizing Ghanaians’ access to technology and sustainable improvement in the quality of life. ”

Recently, Asare remembered the previous VCDC campaigns he designed, which helped build momentum towards today’s announcement. In particular, one of his achievements of which he is most proud was the creation of a partnership with the NGO CanYou? in which 3,000 menstrual cups were distributed to women and girls across rural Ghana. Can you? is partnering with Mr. Asare, the VCDC, and leading creative arts agency, World Artists United led by Jalen James Acosta and Rachel Karry to work to end the “period of poverty” globally.

Asked about Mr. Asares’ recent appointment to the VCDC Board of Directors, Founder Felicia Asare said, “Kwasi Asare brings over 20 years of experience in philanthropy, branding, finance and digital marketing. . This experience is priceless “
