As part of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston’s Jobs for New England Recovery grant program, Jewett City Savings Bank awarded grants of $ 10,000 to five nonprofits in the area. The grants are designed to support organizations that have suffered significant losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The recipients of a $ 10,000 grant are:

• Mayotte-Viens American Legion post # 13 in Putnam

• Wellness Opportunities North East (NOW) of Putnam

• Renaissance City Theater at the Granite Theater, Westerly, Rhode Island

• Killingly’s Quinebaug Valley Community College Foundation (QVCC)

• Griswold Eastern Connecticut Performing Arts Association

“COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on the community organizations that are so vital to enriching our lives and communities. Jewett City Savings Bank is proud to leverage its relationship with Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston to provide much needed financial assistance to these deserving organizations, ”said Kevin Merchant, President and CEO of Jewett City Savings Bank.
