Gifting real estate – ELCA Grand Canyon Synod

For many individuals and families, real estate is a valuable and widely used commodity. Real estate can be a great way to donate to your congregation and the ministries that matter most to you. Donations of real estate can be overwhelming – these are usually large donations of significant assets, and a donor may not even know where to start the process. They can also be the most flexible and impactful gift a donor can give. Download “At a glance: donation of real estate”.
Our ELCA Foundation regional gift planners, Lisa Marie Higginbotham and Josh Kerney, are available to answer any questions you have about how a gift of real estate can benefit you and the ministries that matter most to you! Contact Lisa Marie here, and contact Josh here.
Real estate gifts can relate to a personal residence, vacation home, farm, commercial building, or even undeveloped property. These estate gifts can be made on death, by will or trust, or during your lifetime, as a direct gift or a gift allowing the continued use of the property. Real estate gifts can be distributed directly to departments of your choice and / or used to establish named endowments, donor advised funds or charitable trusts.
